"When another person makes you suffer, it is because he suffers deeply within himself, and his suffering is spilling over. He does not need punishment; he needs help. That's the message he is sending." Thich Nhat Hanh

Knowing the deadly statistics how many women get behind the prison bars, just because they could not take anymore continuous domestic violence and killed their husbands, boyfrietick nikh khannds, lovers. Knowing how much of these women have not been pampered in love, listened to, trusted in, cared for. I could see how simple holistic bodywork session could help them to regain the connection to themselves, assist in releasing some body pains and traumatic emotional moments. It is known that " Muscle tissues and cells can store memories that are related to our traumatic experiences. When a particular muscle group is injured during an accident, a memory of that experience is formed in the affected tissue. This usually means that a small, unconscious contraction has formed in the muscle as a protective reminder of the painful experience. If the tissue memory is not appropriately released then the contraction will remain in the muscle as the injury heals, leading to future pain."
Understanding the connection between body and mind and experiencing emotional and pain release can be revolutionary in one's life. Even more exciting it is for the therapist to plant a seed of body-mind connection and see where the client will take it. Not only releasing emotions through transforming old body position holding patterns, but also by letting go and experiencing the power of healthy and pampering touch, connection with fellow human being that seeks to support, help and just be there for them during the session.
Flowing with massage through her body scars and cut arms, I was wondering how much pain she should have gone through and how wonderful it is to give this gift to her. Elizabete was the one being very inpatient with herself in many yoga exercises, suffering from severe pain in her upper back and extra weight putting even bigger pressure on her scoliosis. Having grown up in orphanage and spent her teenage years hanging around with young Russian bands, she definitely seems to have power of the rock and ability to fight for herself. It gives me hope that this energy can be transformed in self-caring and loving attitude. She is also the one who sometimes is waiting impatiently for workshop to end, so she can slip into meditative state during Shavasana. So we share these moments of silence and flowing bodywork, after which she devotes the brightest smile to me and I silently hope to see her opening more and more these months we will all work together.
